Settings for Buster on ElevenLabs

Plenty of pages publish “perfect settings” for a voice. They are guesses. Output depends on the script, the punctuation, the model you select, the length of each generation and what the audio is played back on. A configuration that sounds excellent on a two-line demo can drift badly across a twenty-minute narration.

What actually changes the result

• The script. Sentence length and punctuation influence phrasing more than any slider. Commas, full stops and paragraph breaks are your pacing controls.
• The model. Different models handle emphasis, pauses and consistency differently, and availability changes over time. Check what your plan offers in ElevenLabs.
• Stability. Broadly, more stability means a more predictable, flatter read; less means more expression and more variance between generations.
• Similarity. Pushes the output toward the source recordings, which can preserve character or reproduce artefacts depending on the text.
• Style and speed controls. Useful in small amounts; heavy-handed settings are usually what makes a read sound processed.
• Chunk length. Very short generations tend to lose the through-line of a paragraph.

A method instead of a preset

1. Start at the platform defaults with a real paragraph of your script.
2. Change one setting at a time and re-render the same text.
3. Generate the same passage twice at each setting to observe consistency, not just quality.
4. Take your best two configurations to a two-to-three-minute render.
5. Listen on phone speaker and earbuds; for agents, over an actual call.
6. Write down what you chose so a later episode matches the first.

Tested profiles

These will be published once real testing is complete, with the script and model used. Until then they stay empty rather than filled with plausible-sounding numbers.
